A combination of spring high tides, storm surge, and strong winds means there is a risk of coastal flooding on Thursday and Friday to low lying land, roads and properties along the Moray Firth coastline in Lybster to Dunbeath. Areas at risk of flooding include Lybster Harbour, Latheronwheel Harbour and Portormin Road, Dunbeath. Flooding is expected for a few hours around the times of high tides over the next few days around 13:00 on Thursday afternoon and 01:30 on Friday morning. The high tide on Thursday afternoon will be the highest of any of the tides this week. There will remain a risk of flooding into Friday morning as winds move round to the North and will be gale force for a time increasing wave heights along the Moray coast.
